Piezo Inkjet

The Piezo DOD market is growing at a rapid rate and is undergoing dramatic changes. One of which is the number of different printhead manufacturers that have recently moved into the market of high-speed four-color printing; Kao Collins makes inks that can be used in all of these printers. The markets new printers are aimed at are the same, or very similar to, Kao Collins’ existing markets. As a result, Kao Collins has been able to leverage its knowledge of what customers want, its reputation in the industry, and its history of formulating inks, to meet the needs of customers.

Piezo printheads appear destined to become the dominant technology for a wide range of applications. Piezo printheads are comparably robust and have the ability to run oil, water, solvent, UV-curable, LED-curable and EB-curable inks. Piezo printers have become the dominant technology in Wide Format, Business Forms, Billing Statements, Short run Label, Textile, Ceramic, 3D and electronics markets.
